The Sophia Center for Spirituality takes its name from the Biblical Greek word for wisdom—sophia.
The mission of The Sophia Center for Spirituality is to serve as a resource for all people and faith communities seeking to deepen their relationship with God. Christian and ecumenical in orientation and founded on the principles of openness and hospitality, the center is a place of welcome for all people seeking support on their spiritual journey. Of special note will be programs based on the contemplative dimensions of Christianity rooted in the traditions of both East and West. The center will offer a diverse menu of services in the areas of faith and spirituality for residents of the Southern Tier and central New York.
We have two locations. Our main office is at 30 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905 (within the First Congregational Church’s campus) and our Western Broome presence is Sophia House, 719 West Main Street, Endicott, NY 13760 (next to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church).
